Pricing is always set by quotation or estimate, but here are some standard rates. Please note that a quotation will be given for a complete project price for all production work. (All prices +HST)
Production planning includes meetings, scriptwriting, location scouting, extended phone calls, research, and all other time spent prior to the beginning of shooting. Standard rate is $50.00 per hour.
Standard rate for location video production is $750.00 per day. Includes one camera operator, one HD camera, microphones, interview lighting, and tripod. Up to 10 hours of on-location time. Travel on the day of the shoot is charged at $0.45 per km. A reduced, flat rate of $350.00 is available for shoots up to 2 hours. The base rate for location videography is $125.00 per hour.
Video editing rate is $85.00 per hour.
Custom graphics rate is $85.00 per hour. This includes motion graphics and regular Photoshop style graphics.
Encoding is the process of taking the finished video and converting it into the desired digital format. The could include Quicktime, MPEG-4 video, or MPEG-2 video for preparing DVDs. The rate for encoding is $15.00 setup fee plus $1.00 per minute of finished video.
Uploading video to the internet is charged at a setup fee of $15.00 plus $1.00 per minute of finished video.
DVD production rate is $150.00 per title if I have produced the video. That includes encoding the source video into MPEG-2 format, creating custom DVD menus, setting up the DVD navigation and testing it, burning to DVD-R, and creating a custom inkjet printable label. Plastic “video store” clamshell cases are available with custom inserts. Each project includes 2 DVDs. Additional copies and cases are $15.00 each.
